“Race with Grace” Moving Forward with New Grants Process

We’re proud to announce that Race with Grace will now be a partner with Run Medina beginning in January 2025, the organization that runs the Medina Half Marathon and 5K.
What this means for supporters of Race with Grace:
Same great name — Our race will continue to operate as Race with Grace.
Same great mission — Our mission will continue to be to help families affected by cancer with basic life necessities so they can focus on battling the disease.
New parent 501(c)(3) — Instead of falling under the umbrella of the Mary Grace Foundation, we will now fall under the umbrella of Run Medina, which has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to local charitable organizations. (In other words, our missions overlap in supporting local residents.)
Quarterly grant processing — We will be processing grants 4 times-a-year (quarterly), rather than monthly. This is due to the restructuring of board duties and decision-making time tables. Yes, you can still apply for grants online or through the mail. The only thing that has changed is that grant decisions and financial help will be rendered quarterly, rather than monthly.
Grants only assessed to residents of Medina County — While we used to support residents of Medina, Stark, and Wayne Counties, we will now be focusing exclusively on Medina County residents.
We are so grateful for the foundation laid by Mike Grace who, instead of allowing a tragedy to ruin him, set up a foundation that has funded over $1 million in grants to families affected by cancer.
His children will continue to play an active role in the operations of Race with Grace.
We’re grateful, too, to have the opportunity to continue onward with the original mission of the Mary Grace Foundation as we forge our new relationship with Run Medina.
Same great name, same great mission.
